  • Rich,

I wasn't able to listen much to your music because I left my headphones at home (at job now).

I liked what I heard of the music, accompanying artwork and lyrics is a nice touch. I'll give you a more critical ear when I have headphones.

The site is another matter, carrier signal is such a neat metaphor for music, the message is carried with the waves, it's a shame this isn't communicated at all visually with your site.

Whatever host you are using has troubles, because I got an 'application error' when visiting your site for the second time. As you are a flash based site, there is no reason to be running any applications.

I'm sorry to say this, but this means your web developer is a bit of a hack. You don't have any content that google can find, so that's going to be problematic for your long-term success.

From a listener perspective, I like free mp3's i can put on my 'pod. If you're going to have shirts, put up actual shirts, not cafepress mockups.

Upcoming tours, news and contact should be available from the home page without having to dig into the site. Some sort of background music would be cool too.

    Hope this helps, Sean

  • Heh, I grew up in San Diego, but I moved northward. The weather was a little hot and the traffic was a little much. Not to mention the city council + developers and their ridiculous plans for taxpayer money.

  • Wow, thanks all for the warm welcome! I love the mastermind idea, because that's something I can work on remotely. When I get in town, I'll look into the happy hours. I do love to write. I suspect you'll see some articles from me, someday. That's the problem with the shotgun approach I've taken thus far, building a niche that I enjoy and won't get bored in is tough. Specialize + Diversify.

  • If it's possible to dynamically create both paths, then why not let the users define their category or choose from a list of presets. If enough users fall into a given category, then it makes the list of presets.

This way your community emerges from the bottom up, instead of being forced from the top down.

Of course, you need primary categories to provide a starting block for a hierarchy-tree: (these come to mind)

    Services Consulting Goods

And, of course, we need a way to be listed in more than one category, as was mentioned above.

  • Great insight, I never thought how a table shape could influence a group.
