  • Richard, you are on to something there! A lot of small business members of My Day Office ask us to refer them to service and product providers, everything from printers to accountants. We invite all Biznik members to drop promotional information off at My Day Office, to my attention and we will post. Our members are relying heavily on our recommendations and we would like to promote Biznik members. I would like to meet with you to discuss your ideas. Drop me a line.

  • Hi MIchael, I wanted to weigh in on 2 counts: I have used a VA for 4 years, she is in Vegas and has helped me to learn to delegate work flow. I use her for creative and marketing assistance and I selected her because she was highly qualified. On the second point, My Day Office has administrative assistants who can work with you in person at our business center or virtually, that may be a good compromise when you need more help. That way you don't have any of the human resource issues. Drop in and check out My Day Office. Good luck with your business, it's fun to manage growth and success! These are good problems to have!

  • The great thing about Discover U was the meeting space also. We would love for them to book their classes at My Day Office! There are other choices in Seattle, including Office Nomads!

  • I can offer to host the event at My Day Office after work or over a weekend, maybe before Thanksgiving?

  • Lynn, that is a great idea! You may want to reach out to girl scout and boy scout troop and Junior Achievement. You probably do not wnat a corporate endorsement at this time, but if you go after the local chapters and help them to learn a skill and earn a badge, then it will gain momentum. Also alot of community centers and churches are now doing alternative Halloween for saftey reasons and may join your program. At all community events (hospital, library, church) you should have fliers about visiting the website and doing a green Halloween at home.

Another good place would be to get a booth or just walk around and hand out pamplets at local festivals through Aug & Sept (ie. Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival this weekend) and farms that have corn mazes and pumpkin patches (there are also special publications featuring the pumpkin patches and you could place an ad or feature article in them). It is easy to pitch and article, just check out www.nsjmktg.com for all the info about publicity.

Finally, you can go directly to large employers/companies and ask if they want you to host a fall event for their employees or customers. This would work at Costco and other family friendly places. ONce people experience the Green Halloween it will gain traction in their neighborhoods.

    Good Luck! Shauna

  • Hi Aaron, I can relate to your situation. My mind is always going and there are a million things to do... In that case, especially at the end of the day, I reflect on a specific relaxing memory and plug back into that feeling, for example if you like walking on the beach, hand gliding or the sound of waves crashing on the rocks, just take a few deep breaths and meditate on that experience.

In my entire life I have only had a handfull of experiences where I was at complete calm with not a thought in the world, one was plunging head first on a 8 story bungie cord the other was floating in a pool of absolutely calm water (being suspended and weightless). I usually think of the pool weightless sensation and it relaxes me everytime! If you can't thnik of anything, maybe you still need to find that relaxing thing for you, which sound like a fun project to get your mind back to positive thinking! Let me know how it goes! Shauna
