Lara.. I agree with Howard. Enjoyed the opportunity to meet people, but left sooner than I had planned because I was hoarse from trying to talk over the din. Larger venue- yes. A little quieter- yes.

Great input.. I think the added stresses many people are experiencing due to economic conditions, the holidays, etc. make us all more vulnerable for making wrong assumptions. Thanks for the reminders!

Glenn, People are always pleased to know they are remembered- And you nailed it when you said connecting only when you want something is not good form. Asking what they are up to is a great way to start, and talking about themselves is usually much more appealing to the person you are reaching out to.
