  • I wonder if it's possible that every "dangerous tea" will be better than the last.

The tea today was a riot! We laughed more than usual today.

While simultaneously being a completely Productive use of time.

Everyone walked away either or both refreshed or with solid new contacts and connections.

    yay for Dangerous Tea!

Watch for a newly invented event: "Dangerous Martini"

    (idea, courtesy of Kaili McIntyre)

Coming up on December 10th from 6-9 @ The Da Vinci cafe. It will be a private biznik event with free nibbles and "dangerous Martini's"

Donations will likely be accepted and there's likely to be a free martini or two thrown in for your attendance.

  • Victoria-

    Thanks for your enthusiasm.

It's a good event for support and revitalization every time. It would be good to have you join us. I find that everyone has brilliance and wisdom to them - even if it is not known or even practiced by them.

These "Dangerous Tea's" have become a nice spot-light event. Everyone gets to not only shine, but get "worked on" by the group so they can get unstuck from something.

It seems as though one person during every "tea" I've hosted - was able to get some seriously good movement in a direction with which they were struggling and challenged.

I'm a fan of the underdog and I fall in love with the successful high fliers. I like to put them together in the same room so we all become teachers and students.

I consider my service to this small business community to facilitate possibilities of not only good connections but also possibilities of growth and evolution.

I think it is our responsibility to accept our lot in life, be gracious enough to bless others in their success and then do what our hearts call us to do - to live better lives and run our businesses with our own form of grace and success.

    Evolution comes from good conversation.

Conversation is a piece of evolution, at least.

Another piece is action. Accountability and integrity go in there somewhere as well.

I think mostly, I just like to see people enjoying each others company.

I love to see lights of inspiration light up in people's eyes or the re-ignition of purpose, pulling someone out of their long-time business doldrums.

... Got off on a rant there...

also allowed at "tea," but rants are, indeed, kept in check...

    :)

  • It helps, to be sure.

It sounds like basic beta-testing issues are coming into focus a bit.

I poked around and read the info on the September 23rd event.

Of course I can start my own group. Sure. Great. But it seems the structure and support of the HIVES is superior to just starting "A Group."

The HIVES sound very co-operative and juicy.

The hive idea reminds me of prayer groups called sanghas at my church where the "6-10"-week course doesn't get diluted by new members. Cool, very!

The "sanghas" get to know eachother over that set period of time and they support each other greatly.

It seems that support of this magnitude is benefited by it's structure.

However! There is a need, it would seem, to have the ability to start a hive without necessitating a PRO-vip meeting.

With the sort of rigid structure currently set up for HIVES - it would seem that "those unable to attend" seriously miss out on a chance to participate in that juicy support.

My church at least allows a grace period where the groups are forming - to allow members to join in a just-started-group.

Do you have a "grace-period" so to speak, with the hives? or is the group locked-in in such a way that the group is inhibited to grow, invite new members etc. because of the programing inhibiting any "growth" functions to the online group space?

Plus - my church offers help and support to those wanting to form another small prayer support groups at any time - regardless of cycling.

Might there be a function or "intention of creating an function" that enables a pro-vip members (or a set of pro-vip/other biznik members) to dive into the stream of the Hive-Flow in the middle of the 6th week - for example?

What are your plans for rigid hive-cycle structure vs. some hot-shot taking the hive ball and running with it any time said "hot-shot" was inspired regardless of cycle-timing?

    still curious...

  • Thanks Andrew!

    That sounds great.

What's the reasoning behind making the hive groups private and exclusionary until January?

What if someone wanted to find and join a hive group now so they could also benefit from the support the hive groups offer its members at this point?

As a pro-vip member, myself, how can I find more information and join sooner rather than wait till January?

If those hive groups were formed at the September 23rd event - how is it that, as someone who didn't attend that specific event - I am currently excuded to from joining those groups even tho I am pro-vip?

I imagine that invites have been sent out to members thru private invite to join the hive groups POST-September 23rd? Is this so?

Thanks for helping me out, by the way. My curiosity is continuing to desire satisfaction.

  • Oh Maya! No worries.

I am something of a creature of habit -just take a look at my event-hosting history.

There will be other opportunities. Tho I think it's getting onto a year since I met you/saw you last time.

:P you're totally sweet and I'm sure that we will see each other when we will and it will be perfect!

I have to say, I love it when anyone wants to attend enough to say they wish they could - gives me warm fuzzies - so thanks for the attendance intention.

  • I have been thinking for a long while now about doing a biznik networking group that is a spiritual round table of support for the participants.

What I mean to say - is that I believe that in the next few weeks, I will post a small group networking event that has a spiritually based, round-table format. I may propose we pray for each other... be-gad.

I decided to post my idea in this discussion because it has come back to life again - tho it was started almost 2 years ago now.

I would like to post a small-sized spiritual-format-based networking event to the main board to get the attention of all biznik participants.

I believe that an event that is spiritually based AND supportive to business in that spiritual expression is something that all business owners could benefit from experiencing.

I enjoy and have experience facilitating sanghas, prayer groups and spiritual discussions. I enjoy talking about the connection between the divine universe and the business I do in this world.

It's a natural fit and I would like to share the experience because the busines growth from an event like this is noticable and sweet.

  • Anne,

Lovely article you have here! I like how you have explained this modality in easy-to-understand terms.

I also practice Craniosacral Therapy. I have been practicing it for a few years now and it has been such a gift to deepen my understanding of the body with this subtle method.

Craniosacral therapy can easily be studied and practiced to no end, and a practitioner can still learn amazing new ways to unleash the body's inner healing potential in ways that only this modality can.

The profound healing that occurs with craniosacral excites my imagination and keeps me interested in bodywork through the years.

    Thank you for this article.

  • That was AWESOME!

    Corbet n Company, Y'all rock!

    I'm sorry, was that unprofessional?

    YOU ALL ROCK!!!!

That was the best biznik thing I've been to in a while... including my own things... Corbet, you have created such a beautiful thing.

I am so grateful for the free-form discussion action that you Facilitate, Corbet.

I was glad to be able to (and see others) step out of their comfort zone, share deeply, debate at the risk of upsetting the "Seattle Cordial Stiff Diplomacy" and rock our little bubbles into considering new ways of thinking, acting, doing business and living our lives.

Very Cool, Very cool! Thank you for hosting this and thank you to everyone else that attended, for a very re-invigorating and self-resourcing event!

  • A Saturday Cashflow Club Event sounds super cool.

I would totally go to that! I work up on cap hill almost every Saturday. I could finish work and head down to... or up to... somewhere to play money games. Could bring some chips n humus or something to share...

Ruth, looks like your general area is Capital Hill!

Perhaps one Saturday coming up in October, November or December there could be a little gaming event?

    That would be most lovely!

  • That was a fabulous discussion!

I am always reminded of so many profound and simple business and human psychology Truths and insights.

Thanks for digging deep into this question of how to be a bad-ass in business with me.

I think what makes this a "dangerous tea" is that we bust thru the professional veneer and get down to what's really going on.

What I mean to say, is we don't pull punches at this event. I heard us all give eachother some constructive critiques that were pretty blunt.

I like the gritty honesty. It seems as though the true grit of these little dangerous teas tends to relentlessly unblock those sitting at the table.

What seems true of all these tea discussions is this: everyone hears something they don't want to hear - but they NEED to hear - in order to help their business (and lives) get unstuck and way more fearless.

    Thank you!

  • Thank you, everyone, who attended and showed interest in this event.

    We had a great time.

People stayed to mingle and have uplifting conversation more than an hour passed our scheduled end time.

When I left at 10:15 there were still about 4 or 5 bizniks in animated conversation with their name tags still on.

    I am so grateful.

I will be posting another happy hour soon.

Diana, the owner of Vermillion, and I will set a date for the future. I would like to schedule happy hours for both October and November if our calendars permit.

Thanks again and I wish you great prosperity in your business dealings.

  • Shannon, Laurie and Thekla!

I am so grateful for you communication about canceling.

Of course you know that it's totally fine to cancel and yes, there will be other Happy Hours full of fantastic people in the future.

The roster of RSVP's is rather lovely, powerful and flattering.

I know tonight will be a great unwinding event.

I find that people tend to let go of their cares about "networking correctly" at these Happy Hours.

With that sort of unwinding from "doing networking the right way," more people find more connections that result in prosperous business dealings.

At least, that is what my experience has been from talking to folks after they've attended my Biznik Networking Happy Hours over the years.

I look forward to seeing everyone who comes on in and shares a good time and a good conversation with me.
