I'll Start By Making Myself Useful!
2 Tips That My Clients Thank Me For Are Super Simple So I Share Them Wherever I Go: Keep a not-to-do list. This is for all the things you feel guilty over because you don’t have time for, so quit trying and give them up–for now. For instance, I don’t volunteer at my kids’ school. So whenever I get that phone call, I have already determined that no, I have chosen not to volunteer this school year. Yes, it makes me uncomfortable to not be that mom, but I have to decide what do I really want of all the things I say I want. I won’t be able to achieve that pleasing everyone else. Just like pre-deciding to not having Snicker bars beckoning me from my cupboards protects my thighs, so does your not-to-do-list protect your time.
Schedule your to-do plan on your calendar. To-do lists are debilitating to creativity and peace of mind. There are those people who like crossing things off a list. I understand. I’m one of them. But may I suggest that you check it off your calendar instead? This shows you that you can’t do it all and forces you to live within the limits of a day. Or it points out that you need to enlist help. So definitely get help with everything that anyone could do. Delegate to your family more. You will make more income when you focus on the things that only you can do, so you can afford to hire out some tasks. Be ruthless with yourself about this. Does it really matter if they don’t do it like you would–if it gets done? Done is better than perfect.
