  • If any of you have been following the journey on www.unchainedworld.com you will know that my Three Teas Tour has ended prematurely and I'm back in Seattle.

Despite my failure to complete the trip, please remember t order any online books through the www.threecupsoftea.com portal into Amazon. That way the charities will still benefit and I'll be able to find some reason behind what happened.

    Thanks.

  • Courtney,

I always look better from behind...is that what you are trying to tell me?

  • Been blogging today. The video is raw and un-edited, but I can't do everything...what do you want of me, it's not like I'm getting paid to do this, so back off

Ooops, must be all those car fumes I've been inhaling!

Take a look, then buy a book

That should be my elevator speech when I'm only travelling one floor.

    Order any books from www.threecupsoftea.com
and not only will you get a discounted book, but also a feel good bonus, because some of the money you were spending anyway, will go towards the charities I'm riding for.

    Any books, you want.

  • Day 5 has just started for me, down in San Diego.

So far we've been lucky not to hit all variety of animals, been lucky not to fall off cliff faces on precipis clinging single tracks, and ended up in prison. So quite eventful.

Here's the link to the title sequence. Is this too rock and roll or what?

Posted Oct 01, 2008 Three Tea Tour by Stephen Baker
  • I do indeed "rock" don't I!

That is a good thing to do isn't it? You ex colonials and your vernacular, I'm never sure.

Just get yourself along to this Tea Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Seattle Centre and then you can Tea Leif.

  • leila,

That'll teach you not to eat cheese just before you go to bed.

I hope you sleep better tonight

And the answer to the dream's conundrum....very small cups.

  • Due to an illness of one of the NW Tea Festival staff, the Festival has not proceeded with it's planned association with a charity.

    Guess what?

They've decided to adopt the Three Tea Tour charities of Pennies for Peace and Ikat.

So, now there's even more reason to come to the Tea Festival on the 4/5th Octover at the Seattle Centre, because anything you spend will go someway to helping the education that will challenge fear due to ignorance.

    Hope to see you there.

  • Giannina,

'Kids in the Hall'? We didn't get that in England sorry.

But, here's the thing, don't get soppy about this with tears, it's a far more practical exercise. Go to the ThreeCupsoftea web site and use it as your preferred on-line book purchasing source. Then not only will you get the books you want, but you'll also be helping the education that removes the fear bought about due to ignorance.

That's got to bring a smile to anyone's face.

  • Slight change of plan.

I'll be at the Tea Festival on the Saturday and Sunday, mainly so I can try to prise donations out of people that come, via Ann and her tea leaf reader skills. So, please do come along.

Posted Sep 24, 2008 Three Tea Tour by Stephen Baker
  • An update: fellow Bizniker Ann Wendell will be joining me at the Tea Festival, where in exchange for a nominal donation to the charities I'm riding for, will use all of her mystic knowledge and tea training, to read what the future may have install for you, discerned from the magical positioning of the tea leaves. And I'll throw in a cup of tea. What a bargain.

Posted Sep 22, 2008 Three Tea Tour by Stephen Baker
  • I've just been at an event where Ann Wendell was given my copy of Three Cups of Tea. Please make sure that while I'm away, you ask her to pass it on to you too.

Ann reads tea leaves, not tea bags. Apparently once you've read one teabag, you've read them all.

  • Judy, I'm certain that all I'd ask is that you go to your local library and check for three cups of tea on the shelf, then ask for it, if it's not. If it is, lend it and read it. Or, buy books via www.threecupsoftea.org website...any books, it's like Amazon only some money goes to supporting educational programmes.

Suzanne, thanks for applying a sticking plaster to my fragile and fractured ego.

    Here's the finished version folks.

Love it or loath it, it's all that I'm investing into this clip, so I hope it's love it, as I'm very shallow and have a fragile ego, that needs constant praise!

But, if you do hate it...then you are drastically wrong. It's art!!!!

I met a lady today that can read teabags. She says my future looks perforated and has a string attached. What does that mean!

  • Viv,

I'm thinking that steering away from actually sending anything that needs shipping is a better option.

Unfortunately, the only other alternative, is the ugly solution of money, unless you have time to visit the schools yourselves and do a bit of graft.

I'm uncomfortable in asking for charity without a return, so I'll ask that perhaps you could buy books for yourselves, just via the three cups of tea website, who will donate that 7% to an education.

It's neater and tidier and everyone gets something they want and need.

  • How to support Three Teas Tour's charities:

    visit-

http://www.threecupsoftea.com and buy any books you want, that way 7% of all the books purchased will go towards helping a girl's scholarship fund.

Check your local library and see if Three Cups of Tea is there. If not, either donate a copy, or ask for it to be added.

  • Businesses don't have to set out to be green to have green benefits.

My work with www.unchainedworld.com was as an atonement for having spent a number of years, helping establish a global standard for a fastfood giant. Now, it so happens that if unchained restaurants (unique Mom and Pop places, or other small indie businesses) use local suppliers and local people frequent these establishments, there may not be a need for congealled fat to be frozen and shipped over from New Zealand and Australia, to be mixed in with burger meat served here.

Avoiding the need to ship frozen lard can't be a bad thing, can it.

Support unchained (Unique-indie) businesses, that way you'll get a flavour of the place you are.

  • Suzanne, no doubt about it, this guy is doing the right thing, in the right manner to solve problems that rockets, bullets and bombs can never hope to resolve.

  • The Muenster goes well with an Alsace Gewerstraminner as they are from the same region. It's strange how that symbiosis tends to surface so often.

I suppose tea and Brits would be an exception, although once you've had an exotic empire, I suppose you can pick and mix. That's why Chicken Massalla has replaced fish and chips as the UK's most popular dish.

Posted Sep 15, 2008 Three Tea Tour by Stephen Baker
  • Any cheese will do, Muenster from the Alsace region is particularly pungent and creates night stories in colour.

But breath that smells like an ill donkey, so brush and gargle vigorously.

  • I'll be keeping a blog similar to this one :

    www.roughguidesintouch.com/lamble

which I wrote when I rode across the US. This time though, I'll have the videoing going on too, and it will be my own format, rather than a bought rough guides version.

Actually, if you read the earlier blog, there's a tea and Dunk related post. I hereby dedicate it to you, unless you know someone called Rich Tea, in which case he'd have first dibs.

  • Howard,

Define "wacky", as I don't feel I qualify.

I've just sent a message to Nancy, I mean how could I fail to with a company name like Publici-Tea! So thanks for that.

I believe I'm meeting you at the author's and publishers event, so I look forward to seeing you there.

There's a video thing at the end of this link, which I've made this week, that explains how the trip has materialised. Do feel free to take a look, there's no charge!

Suzette, if I eat cheese before going to bed, my nights are filled with wonderful stories too. I highly recommend it!
