What Steve does
Me? I'm a Harvard-educated leadership trainer and a certified personal coach. But really, this is about you...
YOU are not what you could be. What you could be is more than you can imagine.
Are you called to make a difference in the lives of others? If so, isn't it crucial for you to live into your highest aspirations for yourself? I mean, why play the game unless you give it your all?
But of course to become your highest self, you have to pay diligent attention -- to your strengths, your challenges, your mindset, and the behaviors that will manifest your potential, one day at a time.
What does that look like? Personal coaching (or leadership coaching -- I do both). Lots of folks are calling themselves coaches these days, but beware. What coaching is, at its best, is a holistic toolkit that helps you identify the pathways -- unique to you -- that will best express your highest potential.
Are you worth that investment? If so, contact me and let's just chat. No hard sell, just an exploration of possibilities.
I'm particularly drawn to folks who are interested in using their potential to heal the planet or its beings in some way. I spend considerable volunteer time working on issues of environmental sustainability and social justice, primarily as a certified facilitator with the nonprofit Pachamama Alliance.
In my spare time, I enjoy music (I sing in a swing-era jazz band), Pilates, meditation, spending time in nature, and most of all communing with my wife, Karen and my dog, Lucas. We divide our time between Seattle and Whidbey Island. Whidbey is where our souls reside.
What Steve does best
I listen really, really well.
I nonjudgmentally offer insight, support, challenge, and compassion to folks who are serious about living into their highest aspirations.
I help people develop healthy relationships -- with others, of course, but also with themselves ... AND with the planet.
I facilitate groups well, and I present in a compelling yet comfortable style.
I write persuasively, accessibly, and with a touch or more of humor.
What does Steve need?
more time and more mindfulness ;~>
introductions to networks of green-minded and integrally-minded folks ... I'm developing a small-group coaching initiative for people who share a personal commitment to taking an ever-greater role in creating a world that works for all.
I also offer small-group coaching to business managers. So I need introductions to business managers who want to work diligently on their personal development in a small community (5-7) of their peers.
Education
Psychology degree - Harvard University, 1975.
Professional Coaching certificate - New Ventures West 2001;
PCC - International Coach Federation 2006.
Experience
I've been a certified personal development coach for 8 years (beware of those who call themselves "coaches" and aren't either trained in sustainable human development or aren't themselves on a path toward enlightenment! Both are essential.)
I have phenomenal testimonials from past clients with regard to what they got out of coaching with me (check out my website).
I have facilitated leadership development experiences in numerous corporations including Boeing and Microsoft, and in government agencies, nonprofits, community organizations, and educational institutions across the country. Again, check out my testimonials on my website.
I was an award-winning journalist in my first career, an award-winning music teacher in my second, and a performing musician (award-free) throughout.
I sang for the Pope in Vatican City! (Ask me about it. And no, I'm not Catholic.)
