Hi Judy,
Great points you make - it really is about helping first. :o) Sue
Hi Howard, Thanks for the comments - glad you enjoyed the article & yes, I'd love to post it for your group.... but, how do I do that?
thanks, Sue
Hi Kirk,
This was a perfect article for me today & rates a perfect 10! The challenge for most people is to communicate value before the wall goes up, because once it's up it slow coming down... ususally brick by brick. And the catch here is learning to communicate your value "without" selling (either intentionally or just by appearance of it) - because selling too soon is the fatsest way for the wall to go up!
Hi Marianna,
I'd love to make it but have client sessions booked every day - evenings or late aftns are better for me.
tks, Sue
Hi Joe,
All excellent points - actually you've got it right. I hadn't thought of it this way but as you suggest - if people don't get a sense to trust you or that you're credibile the relationship doesn't blossom into the 'like' or 'know' phrase.
So I guess 1st impressions really can make a huge impact on developing referral relationships. Mmmmm.... interesting thought.
thanks! Sue
Hi Natasha,
Seattle... you ask? Well, I frequently hold seminars & do a fair amount of speaking to many networking groups & business associations locally here in the Vancouver area. But no, I don't currently have any bookings in Seattle, but would be very willing to do a presentation or workshop. So I'd definitely, welcome introductions or invitations to speak outside of Vancouver :o).
It's great to hear that you have some established referral partners - it really does work!
Thanks for posting the comment,
Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for passing the article along - I just checked out the www.suretomeet.com website - it looks like an interesting service. I'd welcome an introduction to Cliff.
Sue
Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the great info, free resources & links -- I've already passed them on to my coaching clients. Awesome!!
Sue
Hi Louis, great point about using Ambassadors.
Most commonly people think referral partners need to be reciprocal. But that's not always the case. A hair dresser could be an awesome referral partner/source for a mortgage broker, but the mortgage broker may not be able to pass many referrals back - by thinking of the hair dresser as an "Ambassador" I think it get's pass this concern of 'tit for tat'.
Hi Tina,
Sounds like you've got good 'bones' to launch your biz - so many people get into business without any solid ideas on how to market themselves. For you it's about unleashing the entreprenuer inside you and mapping out a plan. I'd be pleased to offer you a complimentary strategy session to explore next steps to your launch.
Contact me if this is of interest,
Good luck! Sue
Hi Marianna,
I'd love to come but have a full morning of client appts scheduled. Plse keep me posted on future events.
Thnaks, Sue,
Hi Marianna,
Thanks for the positive comment on my seminars :o).
And you're right, networking & building referral partners does work... but it's not a quick fix -- patience & consistency are essential.
warmly, Sue
