Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complex system of medicine that has been in use for over three thousand years. It is a system of medicine that accesses the body's vital energy, or qi. Qi flows like a river through channels in the body. When acupuncture points are stimulated it is similar to opening or closing a valve, dispersing excess energy or gathering deficient energy as needed. By influencing the energy at specific points the whole system becomes more evenly balanced, allowing for a smoother flow throughout the body. Acupuncture is relatively painless and often accompanied by feelings of heaviness or warmth and the movement of energy.

TCM is effective for both physical and psychological problems. TCM is at its best when used preventively, but it also very effectively treats common symptoms and difficult to cure diseases. Even if you have a western diagnosis for your situation, Oriental Medicine has its own diagnostic system that can address most health problems, especially if conventional treatment is not enough to restore optimal health.

  It's not enough in acupuncture to just put the needle in - you have to capture the "qi" energy for healing to happen. Susan has exceptional needle technique, and really activates the qi. She did wonders with a client I referred to her; his chiropractor and I had worked on him to some benefit, but adding Susan's acupuncture tipped the scale to get powerful lasting results.   [less]

  I would recommend Susan to anyone for acupunture. She has great technical skill, coupled with a very soothing, calm manner that increases the effectiveness of the treatment by several magnitudes. As a recovering needle phobic, I have to say that she completely won me over to acupuncture.   [less]
