What Susan does
I help you restore internal balance and maintain a state of health and wellness through acupuncture treatments. I ask many questions and listen deeply to understand what you need from each treatment - pain relief, women's health, stress reduction, improved sleep, more energy, help getting over a common cold, allergy symptom reduction, and long term health concerns. I am your ally on your path to health.
In our first meeting we will talk all about you, so I can get a clear understanding of your health history and unique constitution. We will work together to address major health problems and overall quality of life so you can experience great joy and satisfaction in life.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complex system of medicine that has been in use for over three thousand years. It is a system of medicine that accesses the body's vital energy, or qi. Qi flows like a river through channels in the body. When acupuncture points are stimulated it is similar to opening or closing a valve, dispersing excess energy or gathering deficient energy as needed. By influencing the energy at specific points the whole system becomes more evenly balanced, allowing for a smoother flow throughout the body. Acupuncture is relatively painless and often accompanied by feelings of heaviness or warmth and the movement of energy.
TCM is effective for both physical and psychological problems. TCM is at its best when used preventively, but it also very effectively treats common symptoms and difficult to cure diseases. Even if you have a western diagnosis for your situation, Oriental Medicine has its own diagnostic system that can address most health problems, especially if conventional treatment is not enough to restore optimal health.
What Susan does best
I specialize in treating both women's and men's reproductive health and fertility enhancement combining current research in reproductive medicine with Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have completed post-graduate training in fertility with Dr. Mike Berkley, L.Ac., DA. specializing in the "East meets West" theory of developing comprehensive treatment plans from both Western and TCM perspectives.
