  • Out of the box not off the shelf!

Love Holly Barbo's title of her Biznik gig November 12th. She's one savvy entrepreneur. How now, 'purple cow' ? What does that take? Ideas welcome!

  • eBirds Walk in Wisdom!

I'd like to invite a few more eBirds to come out on Friday mornings and join our invigorating BirdWalk around the South Bay Trail. We have coffee halfway and everyone gets time to share challenges, ideas, issues along the way in our most inspiring waterfront location. Bring a friend and meet other birds of a feather!

  • DIGGERS wanted: Bellingham

Sharpen your spade and gather your seeds as we embark on a project to do good things for good reasons with good people: a community garden in Bellingham for cooped up urban dwellers. The spot has been spied. The first strong backs and minds have stepped up. This project proposes we walk our talk by planting our own literal seed capital and in the process--build our team spirit. We welcome you , ideas and energies toward this idea.

  • Entrepreneurs: GROW Your Business with STIMULUS MONEY!

News FLASH: SBA the Small Business Administration now offers REFINANCING of business real estate including some related debts to help you grow your business and improve cash flow...but many business entrepreneurs don't know this is an option--it's too new. Generally the 504 and 7A programs have supported business growth to purchase real estate and existing businessses, commercial real estate or heavy equipment. This is a whole new ballgame with stimulus funds being made available to entrepreneurs to improve cash flow. I am hosting an event in Bellingham, WA on July 22 with my Community Development partner and suggest you contact your local SBA Development Center (NGO) or SBA lender.

I would be very interested in your experience if you are in the process of applying for these new funding programs.

  • Ungreed is Good!

During challenging times, I've come to appreciate anew the strength of character and kindness of those around me who value the positive exchange no matter what. A few generous souls have taught me the value of ungreed first hand. As a mortgage professional, it is my daily practice to walk between walls of greed and need. I attempt to meet both with good grace and creative responses. My co-conspirators in the postive have been gracious to share their pearls and their honesty. We can get real, get down and get back on our feet together. Facing the reailites around us is far healthier than denial of what others are feeling, if not voicing. I have learned that if fear has value, it is the power to disempower.

We prosper when we come together in places like this. So cast out your doubt and adopt the contrarian view that ungreed is good!
