Event description

Hidmo's Live African Music series (www.hidmo.org) on Sundays are becoming very popular, though still a best kept secret. Community driven, with excellent live music matched by enthusiastic and soleful dance participation.

On Sunday, September 20th, Hidmo sponsors a traditional Egyptian dance party with the Northwest’s treasured MB Orchestra (www.themborchestra.com), stirring the passion of ancient Pharoanic music with the enticing sounds of a modern Cairo cabaret. Egyptian belly dance artist Suzanna (www.planetsuzanna.com) will be featured wearing the galabeya (traditional robe), inviting the Hidmo gathering to join her.

Arrive early to catch a special opening performance by Suzanna and her students.

Free and All ages!

No problem Shannon. Thanks for RSVPing anyway. If not this Sunday, I look forward to meeting you.

I'm co-producing (and lightly performing in) a bigger show in a couple of weeks, featuring "Raquy and the Cavemen," an internationally renown female Middle Eastern percussionist and her group, plus guest artists Erik Brown & Delilah, TriBellas, and myself.

If you want me to keep you in the loop on this and similar events, feel free to send me your email contact. I send out announcements about every 3-4 weeks, via a professional email list service to assure proper use of everyone's email contact.

    Have a wonderful weekend. --SUZANNA
