Thanks for Asking John!
Here are my 'top' companies I love to gush about to others.
Local: I love www.capitalcitypress.com Capital City Press, a full service print and fulfillment company based in Olympia, WA. They are an Employee owned shop that provides top quality and top customer service like no other. With all the options for printing, I am happy to promote a company that goes above and beyond with service from all sides.
Beyond Local: I have been following a marketing gal known as the Ezine Queen www.alibrown.com Ali Brown she has product that delivers! Her approach is clear and easy to follow with systems that can be put in place right away for increase in your marketing efforts. I recently went to a conference of hers in Vegas and as with all she does, it was done with excellence. I have been to and hosted events of all sizes and know what quality looks like. Ali put on an event that had incredible wow factor for me and I learned a LOT!
Across the Boarder: My husband and I enjoy going to Portland Oregon for short weekend trips. It is a delightful city, friendly to all and user friendly to boot. One of our favorite destination points is Voodoo Doughnuts - http://voodoodoughnut.com/. It is an incredible little hole in the wall on 3rd and Burnside, room inside the door for about 8 - 10 people SRO. Their signature Voodoo Doughnut is out of this world and the creativity they put into each creation is awe inspiring. It doesn't matter if you like donuts or not, you must go for the experience. It is not to be missed when in Portland. Just plan on waiting in line, each time I have gone the line has been 30+ deep around the block. No kidding! "The magic is in the hole!"
I could go on with some of the obvious i.e. Nordstrom and these are a great place to start.
Make it a great day! Tammy
(hahaha. @howardhowell you crack me up!) LOL Bob, way to go on inspiring some bold conversations around shameless plugging!
I am with you, I come here less and less because it seems that we have to wade through a lot of 'stuff' to get to collaboration.
When I talk about Biznik, I always highlight the desire for folks here to contribute first. It's what I feel sets us apart.
Let the discussing continue!
Congratulations Suzette! I learned something new today just from reading your post, Didn't know there were certifications for Green Brokers!
Way to go!
Sorry you won't be with us today Dunn's. Take care and spend time enjoying precious memories.Sorry for the loss of your beloved Nuz.
Hurray!!! We have Judy Dunn in the house tomorrow!
Looking forward to seeing Everyone at 11:00 am.
Hello Everyone! Looking forward to seeing all of you at this great event! We opened up a couple of extra spots, tell you friends!
HI Everyone, Looking forward to seeing you next week!!
Yeah Nancy,
Bloggerlinkup.com is a great resource! Your tips are always greatly appreciated and I wait anxiously to see them posted.
Hi Terra! I know we were looking for insurance, we didn't have dental on our personal plan because it didn't make financial sense. Robert is right, trading dollars for dollars. Now, there is a program that runs like a credit card for dentists (I think vets and chiropractors too go figure) you get approved and work on a payment plan - case specific.
Also, I would recommend you checking out your local chamber, they have various options for indie business folks for insurance.
Good luck
Andre' you are in the right place! Setting the right intention to join, contribute and receive. That is what Bizniks to best - Contribution = Compensation in this neck of the woods.
Enjoy!
What if I get sick? or Will I get sea sick?
Will I get wet?
Hello Jennifer, Welcome to one of the most powerful and dynamic 'associations' you could be part of in the world (I believe.)

haha, I love this conversation!! It's about time that the question came from outside the 'coaching sphere'!
Hsuan-Hua brings up all good points of clarification for what trained coaches do and offer. I would add a couple of things.
First, Mark to your point, the title "Coach" is as common now as Marketing & Psych degrees were in the 80's & 90's - a dime a dozen so to speak. The title seems to be the catch all for people who want to "help" others fix their problems. What sets Hsuan-Hua and myself apart (as well as 14000 others world wide) is that we have put in many, many hours of training, classroom, mentoring, and practice to get the certification of Coach. As a certified coach we have core competencies, code of ethics, professional oversight, coach specific training, and on-going education to maintain our professional standards set by ICF. There are structures to enforce the following of the ethics and to model quality coaching.
In addition, rigorous adherence as professionals to these standards and practices provides the necessary assurance that the public is protected from potential harm.
As coach, we don't enter into an agreement (the part of "service" you referred to) believing that we know more than the client about their situation. Through the powerful questioning and inquiry process, client discovers their own truth and answers - the coach is merely the facilitator of the client's conversation, not the answer or opinion giver. It really is in the listening that is equally key to the questions in my opinion. A skilled coach can hear what is going on for the client and then know what questions to ask for clarity, breakthrough and even breakdown. (this is the desired outcome that the client identified at the beginning of the coaching agreement.)
Your Certified Coaches hold their client whole, capable, resourceful and creative - from there, mining for truth, clarity and purpose with powerful question and inquiry is the process, they are not in the business of fixing, telling or showing.
And as with anything, test drive it first to understand if it works for you. Coaching is not for the faint of heart (as client) because you will be pressed beyond comfort zones and limiting beliefs to produce your extraordinary result.
(Oh and stay tuned to the industry in the coming months/year - a lot is about to change and I believe as a result, those without the proper training/certification will need to paint a new shingle.)
Hope that helps. Do go to www.coachfederation.org for more information.
Love this topic Holley! I actually have a Tips Booklet on Exquisite Self-Care for the Professional Woman at the printer as I type. During the research, I found it interesting that the definition that most people put on Self Care was all about the health aspect.
My Tip is to set daily affirmations that support your vision of self care.
Thanks for the detox tip!!
Thank you Don. Like the Plan, Account and Partner. You are right, we don't know who those partners will be and or why they may be infused into our life/business at any moment. The key is to be alert and open to all possibility.
And Rick, thank you too. I like short and sweet. Too many words can just get in the way of the meaning.
Make it a great day Gentlemen!

WOW Bob - you have gotten some great feedback and interested parties on this article.
Thanks for the easy to follow clarification in the article. I am sharing with several people that I know today so that they can understand the benefits of both and why.
You make it easy for us to take action on a blog or website style blog with Wordpress. Whether free or paid, we understand which direction to take. Thanks for spelling it out!
Ok Miss Judy, You got me at the title!
I love the way you use just enough humor and light hearted truth in your writing. You bring about a wonderful muse of dancing letters that is not only enjoyable to read, it leaves me wanting more.
I couldn't agree with you more on your tips. Perhaps the only question that it leaves me with (and maybe this is a follow-up article) is this "does ones Niche change?" or "When does one know that it is time to narrow or change the Niche?"
The reason that I ask that is that for a long time I thought my niche was Business Coaching - I started out with small business and then found that what really made me happy were the medium to large organizations. And now, I am adventuring into the Political arena too. Still a business focus just a different audience. So, can one have too many Niche Markets - or are veins ok off each?
Thank you for posting on Biznik - I love reading your Blog each week and now you have given me more!!
Thanks Bob! Let's get the event full! Great food, fun for the whole family! Please RSVP through the link above. Oh and did I say Door Prizes too?
