I design and develop websites, make movies, read, write, take pictures, cook, garden, build and launch model rockets, and tinker with stuff (among other things).

I spend most of my time on the job writing PHP code, and I strive to write clean, valid code. I'm also pretty sharp with CSS. In every project I work on, I keep the end user in mind and build with them in mind.

I need to extend my PHP and MySQL skills. I am particularly interested in learning about security and performance optimization.

I would also like to learn more about SEO.

Like most web professionals, I was self-taught. At first I thought people would view my lack of a formal education with disdain, but then I realized that it actually speaks highly of my desire to be in this line of work. After all, this is frankly kind of complicated work, and I wanted to do it so badly that I spent my free time learning it!

I have a B.A. in Electronic Media and Film from Eastern Washington University, where I studied under the direction of award-winning filmmaker Tom Mullin.

I have been designing and developing websites since 1995. My humble beginnings gave way to professional aspirations in 2003, and in 2005 I started working full-time as a web designer and developer.

My film degree hasn't gone to waste, however. I spent a few years in local television, recently earned my first IMDb credit, and have won several award for my work. I continue to work with video both professionally and in my spare time.
