I work with the client to reduce pain in the body, increase flexibility, coordination, self-understanding, and overall sense of well-being. In session, I use many approaches including massage, cranio-sacral therapy, movement education, dialoguing techniques, lifestyle recommendations, and referrals for other approaches and practitioners.

My main service is hands-on bodywork, from very specific, clinical techniques which effect specific muscle, nerve, and connective tissue, to broader circulatory and relaxation enhancement approaches.

I try very hard to understand the context of the client's complaints - medical and behavioral history, current activities, etc. - and to make suggestions and utilize treatments that will match their situation.

To this end, I allow (but do not require) substantial uncharged time during the first session to talk about health history, current activities and goals, and possible treatment approaches. Each additional session begins with a (usually brief) update on what they've been doing and how they are progressing. Over time, details are added to their story, which allows us to figure out what is helping and what isn't. [less]
