Starting his business career in Semiconductor manufacturing and then moving into the IT world, Mr. Williams has more than thirty years of management and technical experience in computer software. As an end user in both discrete and process manufacturing, an IT individual contributor, a business owner and a Senior Project Manager working in Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Israel and the United States his unique combination of attributes allows him to communicate and solve problems at all levels of the enterprise.

The common thread in Mr. Williams' career is recovering projects. He regularly contributes to meetings at various associations providing insight into the process. He gives presentations to cast light on how to recover failed projects and to prevent their reoccurrence. This experience points to the need for the project manager to look at people's behaviors, their interactions, personal goals and desires as a source of issues that bring projects to their knees. Through his experience, he has identified that the most common project failure symptoms are scope creep, team communication, technology failures and misapplied process. But these are only symptoms of a large problem. Adding more process does not solve this problem, working with people to build a team does. Over the years has a developed team philosophy that he finds critical in recovering projects.

Mr. Williams has a strong technical background, tenacity and attention to detail is a regular contributor to PMI and other local seminars in the Portland area.
