I am a hair artist with 30 plus years experience. I do couture cuts, multidimensional color, and facial waxing. I also do special occasion hair and makeup. One of my career highlights was working for the Seattle Opera doing makeup and hair, and having Jose' Carreras as my client for his appearance onstage. My one other big moment was doing the hair and makeup for an Oprah Winfrey segment.

I interview my client to see what their beauty needs are then we co create a look that is customized to her lifestyle and face shape. I make it my goal to find out what is NOT working for my client and then make it work. I then teach them how to have a good hair day everday. What is important in the fashion business for me is to stay current, go to continuing education classes and implement all of my years of experience together.

I also write a fashion,and Eastside events blog for the Seattle PI called Eastside Uptown Girl. And, a once monthly fashion column for Bellevue Downtown Network. www.downtownbellevue.com

What I do best is finding out what my clients need to make their hair work for them. What makes them feel good, and look their best. When they walk out of my salon, I want them to feel lighter, relaxed and armed with ideas to keep their style once they go home. I am also a good listener, and if a client wants to talk, I am an active listener, and all conversations are confidential.

What I need is to meet more like minded people in terms of having us all help each other's biz grow.

I have over 30 years experience in the beauty industry, and have delved into some avocations over the years too. Namely, promoting doll shows featuring Barbie. For many years, I enjoyed collecting and selling vintage Barbie dolls. With the advent of Ebay, the whole market changed, but I still love vintage Barbie.

I have also headed up special training programs at Gene Juarez, and have been a hair and makeup artist for the Seattle Opera and the Pacific NW Ballet. My big moment was doing makeup for the Oprah Winfrey show "Follow your Spirit" segment.
