  • Barb,

So sorry to cancel at the last moment, but I had a tooth pulled this morning, and am not feeling as chipper as I'd like. Will catch up with you at another one soon. I need this workshop!

  • Well said, Michele. I can use this analogy for my seemingly never-ending deadlines. Getting so close to the finish, seeing the end, but somehow losing my drive and enthusiasm for the project. Could be some "holding on" because the next project hasn't shown up yet, and with it, the income. Why not say instead, "time to clear my plate to make room for the next course?"

  • Do you do many real estate construction loans these days? Don't be fooled by my profile...I have a whole other life!!!!

  • Thanks, Karen, for hitting it on the proverbial head. I, like Christopher, have figured out my Bottom Line Price by what my expenses are. This means working 20 days a month, which is a lifestyle I don't want. One complaint about the economy is that clients more than ever want a lower price because of their cost-cutting. My costs (insurance) continue to increase, though! It's very hard to say 'no' to any work these days, even my Regret Price jobs. This, too, shall pass.....

    Thanks again, K!

  • Great stuff, in a very focused, business sense. I'll take it in a other direction we creatives sometimes use: - Is the money too good to turn down? - Will I get to really shine? - Will it be fun?!?!?!?

We say one 'yes' is good enough to take the gig, 2 are better, and 3 are heaven.

  • I like your idea of giving the "fears" a place to live...outside of my head is the best place.
