Chris,
Loved your article, and laughed aloud reading all the comments.
Thumbs up, waaay up!

Hi Lori,
As the past president of my chapter of the International Coach Federation, this is a question I have answered over 100 times! I completed my training over 7 years ago, and have been working as a coach full time for 9 years. (Yes, I began before finishing my training.)
I am a graduate of Coach U, and a trainer at International Coach Academy (icoachacademy.com).
Loved Coach U, but the vision and diversity at ICA is more "me" now. If I had known then what I know now, I probably would have chosen ICA.
My suggestions:
Go for an ICF accredited school to be sure you're getting the best education (see www.coachfederation.com for a list of accredited schools).
Take at least one introductory class from every school you are seriously considering to make sure you feel a philosophical resonance or learning style match because personal "fit" will the most important aspect of your satisfaction.
Talk to the coaches you admire in your chapter of the ICF (pugetsoundcoaches.org) to get first-hand impressions.
Love life. ^_^
Warmly, Ronnie
Great stuff, Rickey! You're right on target.
Kristina, thanks for noticing that error! Sorry about that.
The class is on Wednesday, the 23rd, and the listing is now updated.
Looking forward to "meeting" you on the call.
Warmly, Ronnie
Great advice, Dana!
Brandie, you are so right! This is a habit to develop and keep. When my computer expired a few years ago (along with my entire contacts database, because I took the "paperless office" thing too seriously), my phone log was the thing that kept me in business.
